Karol's training began as a child under the tutelage of her mother, an accomplished painter and window display designer. Several years after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, Karol studied at the American Academy of Art, Chicago, IL. It was at Chicago's Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts that she began her intensive classical training. Her focus was figurative, portrait and still life painting and drawing from life. Karol is an intense and passionate artist. It is said when she paints, she is fearless. Her brush and knife work are powerful and she feels this is a result of confident decisions made before each painting begins. Karol maintains studios in Granger, IN and Naples, FL where she paints and draws daily. She has established open studio painting and drawing sessions with live models in both communities. A recipient of numerous awards, Karol offers paintings through galleries, exhibitions and commissions. Karol gratefully acknowledges the guidance and influence of her generous teachers, Clayton J. Beck III, Diane Rath and Scott Tallman Powers. Workshops with Master Painters Clayton J.Beck III, David Leffel, Rose Frantzen, Gregg Kreutz and Dan Gerhartz have been important to her continuing growth.
